A Financial Services Firm Turns To Kyocera For Help With Cost Savings

Kyocera Enterprise Case Study

PROBLEM

A financial services firm had been printing, editing and storing hard copies of its clients’ paperwork, resulting in lost files.

SOLUTION

Install a TASKalfa MFP equipped with DMS Link, a KYOCERA app that connects MFPs to existing document management systems.

BACK STORY

The firm’s dealer proposed a one-step solution: Install a color KYOCERA Multifunctional Product (MFP) equipped with DMS Link. A KYOCERA TASKalfa color MFP would handle all of the employees’ needs, and DMS Link, a Kyocera developed business application, would securely link the KYOCERA device to the firm’s shared file server.

Plus, DMS Link offers optical character recognition (OCR) powered by OmniPage, enabling users to scan hard copies into editable PDF, Word or Excel files for easy updating.

The dealer recommended and demonstrated DMS Link’s barcode capabilities—specifically,

DMS Link’s ability to split and retrieve data from a barcode. This technology enables users to batch-scan unrelated documents at the same time.

In this case when scanning, DMS Link would read the various barcodes and send the corresponding scans and meta data to the appropriate client folders.

All of the firm’s documents are now stored electronically, allowing users to process paperwork in batches so they spend less time at the MFP and more time with clients.
